Job summary

Labcorp in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an Onsite Lab Support Clerk to join our team. You will prepare specimens, handle data entry, and ensure accurate labeling and shipping of samples in a fast-paced environment.

You'll work Monday–Friday with evening hours, collaborate with client staff, and contribute to timely test results while upholding our quality and safety standards. The role requires attention to detail, ability to lift up to 40lbs, and comfort with handling biological specimens.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of laboratory, accessioning, data entry, or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Communicate effectively with client office staff.
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and on time.
• Identify and label specimens correctly.
• Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 5:00pm – 1:30am, and rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more experience in laboratory or accessioning or data entry or manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of medical or patient facing healthcare experience

The Position

The position, Hospital Reference Test Clerk, will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located onsite with one of our client offices. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
