Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID is hiring a Protection Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. The position is part-time with a 24-hour weekly schedule, including shifts from 7am-7pm and 6am-6pm on specified days.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Security or military experience preferred but not required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required at hire (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network).
• Must have active driving privileges and notify supervisor/HR if changed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secured environment during disasters, fires, or bomb threats.
• Interact daily with the public regarding safety, visitor control, and security concerns.
• Confront strangers and direct or escort off-campus as needed.
• Conducts package inspections and checks properties leaving the facility.
• Reports hazards or malfunctions to appropriate department.
• Check employee/service personnel I.D. on site.
• May restrain individuals with force necessary to protect everyone.
• Operate vehicle, two-way radio, camera, and surveillance equipment; basic computer tasks.
