Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID is hiring a Protection Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. This is a full-time, 12-hour night shift role with a 36-hour workweek, Friday through Sunday, from 6am to 6pm.

The position involves security duties during disasters and emergencies, public interaction on safety matters, access control, and reporting hazards. A high school diploma is required, and driving privileges must be active; Basic Life

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required at hire.
• Active driving privileges required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secured environment in disasters, fires and/or bomb threats.
• Interact daily with the public regarding safety, visitor control, thefts, and any security problems.
• Confront strangers and direct them to the proper area or escort them off the medical center campus.
• Conducts package inspections and checks property leaving the facility for proper authorization.
• Report vulnerable situations, hazards, and equipment malfunctions to the proper department.
• Check employee and service personnel for proper ID.
• May be required to physically restrain a person in combative situations to protect others.
• Operate motor vehicle, two-way radio, camera, and electronic surveillance equipment; demonstrate basic computer skills.
