Job summary

Guthrie is seeking a Boiler Operator to maintain the hospital power plant and all mechanical/electrical systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and emergency generators. You will ensure safe, efficient operation around the clock and report on plant status to the Plant Operations Supervisor.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of high‑pressure boiler experience in hospital or industrial settings, with a valid driver’s license and a preference for a technical, hands-on approach

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Drivers license valid.
• 5+ years high‑pressure boiler operator experience in hospital/industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitors alarms and performs maintenance to ensure reliable power plant services.
• Coordinates with CHP Specialist, Electrician/CHP Specialist, and energy providers for CHP performance.
• Maintains records for licensure, permits, and required operating certificates.
• Participates in training, shop meetings, and department initiatives for safe operation.
• Maintains cleanliness and safe working environment of power plant equipment.
• Keeps fuel, water, steam, and chemical logs per regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates with outside vendors for servicing to maintain efficiency.
• Assists in budgeting and prudent use of resources for cost center 831.
