Job summary

Nexus Children's Hospitals - Houston Market is seeking a Plumber / Maintenance Technician to support Plant Operations across the Houston market. You will troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain plumbing systems and related equipment in a hospital setting, while also assisting with general facility maintenance and safety standards.

The role requires hands-on plumbing experience, reading blueprints, and the ability to work independently or with the team to keep critical healthcare facilities

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of plumbing systems, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Ability to diagnose plumbing problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and related technical manuals.
• General building maintenance knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems.
• Experience using plumbing tools, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary resource for plumbing-related maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues involving water supply lines, drains, toilets, sinks, faucets, valves, pumps, water heaters, fixtures, and related systems.
• Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures, piping, valves, fittings, and related components as needed.
• Inspect plumbing systems and equipment to identify leaks, deterioration, potential failures, and other maintenance concerns.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and related equipment to reduce downtime.
• Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies and service requests while minimizing disruption to patient care.
• Assist with plumbing modifications for renovations, equipment installations, and facility improvements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Maintain plumbing parts, tools, and materials to support repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance journals, work orders, logs, and inspections.
