Job summary

Facility Services Management Inc. is seeking a dependable Journeyman Plumber to maintain and repair commercial plumbing systems in mission-critical government and research facilities in Frederick, MD. You will install, diagnose, and fix water distribution and drainage systems while prioritizing safety and quality.

Required: 1–3 years as a journeyman plumber, valid driver's license, ability to read blueprints, and applicable licenses. Must obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Journeyman Plumber in a commercial or institutional environment.
  • Experience in commercial service or medical research facilities preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Must possess all applicable state, federal, and contract-required licenses or certifications.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) security clearance.
  • All three shifts available.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing, water, heating, and drainage systems.
  • Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install piping using industry-standard tools and equipment.
  • Install and repair valves, fittings, fixtures, water heaters, sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and other plumbing equipment.
  • Diagnose plumbing issues and perform repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing damaged piping, unclogging drains, and maintaining plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform pressure and leak testing to verify system integrity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and plumbing specifications.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and other plumbing trade equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable plumbing codes, safety regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance personnel and other skilled trades to complete projects efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do
