Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital - Springfield, in partnership with Lifepoint Health, seeks a Plant Operations Director to lead facilities management, environmental services, and safety programs at our Springfield, MO campus. The role ensures reliable utilities, ongoing maintenance, and adherence to regulatory standards while coordinating with hospital leadership.

Responsibilities include policy development, budget oversight, and directing major repairs and renovations.

Qualifications

• 1-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 years related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of utility systems management.
• Experience in hospital operations and Joint Commission preparedness highly preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains policies and procedures for the department.
• Plans, directs, and supervises facilities management and engineering operations.
• Manages budget and cost control for the unit and project work.
• Ensures Joint Commission preparedness and safety compliance hospital-wide.
• Oversees Environmental Services and safety programs and training.
