Job summary

La Rabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago seeks a Plant Operations Manager to lead the facilities department, overseeing maintenance, safety, and environmental controls to ensure a safe, efficient hospital environment.

The role manages engineering, maintenance, and biomedical oversight, directs capital projects, and ensures compliance with Life Safety and regulatory standards while supporting patient care operations.

Qualifications

• Education: a college degree is required, or the equivalent of substantial building block experience may be substituted.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in hospital facility operations management.
• EPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs all staff in the fulfillment of project assignments, within budget and on schedule.
• Maintains safe working conditions and practices.
• Develops, evaluates, and maintains Preventative Maintenance Programs.
• Plans and coordinates fire drills in accordance with State Fire Regulations.
• Fiscal management of department operations and capital budget planning.
