Job summary

Nazareth Hospital, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks a Chief Plant Operations Stationary Engineer to lead the Plant Operations Team on the Day Shift.

You will act as liaison between the Director of Plant Operations and plant operations personnel, supervise facilities, equipment and staff, and coordinate maintenance of boilers, hot water systems and air handling units to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and/or vocational training.
• City of Philadelphia Class “A” Stationary Engineer License.
• Proficiency in several trades.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and work from drawings.
• Proficiency in building maintenance techniques.
• Proficiency in the operations of elevators and emergency power generators.
• Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience and demonstrate supervisory qualities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in monitoring and supervising hospital facilities, equipment and staff.
• Submit work schedules and delegate specific job assignments to engineer personnel as approved by the Director of Plant Operations.
• Assist the Director in orienting new employees and contractors in plant operations functions.
• Perform maintenance involving inspection, greasing, oiling, adjusting and cleaning on pressure boilers, hot water heating systems, air handling units.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment to gain access to and removal of defective parts, and replace worn or broken parts.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director.
