UPMC Mercy Health Center in Pittsburgh is seeking a Full Time Carpenter to support our Facility. The role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining wooden structures across hospital buildings, following blueprints and safety guidelines.

The position runs Monday–Friday 7am-3pm with rotating weekends, and requires the ability to read drawings, measure precisely, and work with power and hand tools to install cabinets, doors, floors, and related hardware.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints or instructions.
• Proficient in woodworking and use of hand and power tools.
• Able to lift 50 lb and work safely around hospital facilities.
• Comfortable with rotating shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Construct, repair and maintain wooden structures in hospital facilities.
• Read blueprints, drawings or oral instructions to guide carpentry work.
• Measure, cut, and assemble components using hand and power tools.
• Install casework, cabinets, doors, floors, and hardware as needed.
• Perform demolition and removal of construction materials on site.
• Maintain master key system and door hardware; ensure security.
• Rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays; adhere to safety protocols.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and move through various hospital areas.
