St. Luke’s Health Network, Inc. is seeking a qualified Medical Coder to code and abstract physician services in the hospital setting, ensuring data quality and compliance with CMS and AMA guidelines. The role interacts with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing to maintain information flow.

The ideal candidate will have active RHIA/RHIT/CPC/CCS-P/CCS credentials and 1–3 years of CPT/HCPCS coding experience, with a strong focus on accuracy and productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, CMS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Codes and abstracts professional fee hospital services for SLPG physicians from medical records using ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II and CMS guidelines.
• Maintains 95% coding accuracy per quality reviews.
• Maintains daily productivity as outlined.
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines for hospital inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care, and E&M services.
• Performs data entry of abstracted physician information into databases.
• Conducts educational sessions to medical staff for coding and documentation compliance.
