Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks a Laboratory Assistant to receive and process specimens, perform basic lab procedures, and handle clerical tasks such as greeting patients, answering phones and maintaining records.

You will identify and label specimens, prepare them for analysis, route them to staging areas, manage submitted paperwork, and enter patient information accurately. Phlebotomy certification is highly desired; hospital lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification by ASCP and/or NCA highly desired.
• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in hospital laboratory preferred.
• MINIMUM 7 sticks per hour.

Responsibilities

• You will accurately identify and label.
• You will prepare specimens for analysis and testing.
• You will unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
• You will process all necessary paperwork for submitted specimens.
• You will perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
