Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Lab Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and skin puncture in the hospital setting, delivering patient-centered care and clear communication across teams. The role supports the Hospital Phlebotomy team serving newborn to geriatric patients in ED and inpatient/outpatient areas.

Requirements include a HS Diploma/GED and 6 months phlebotomy experience, plus BLS within 30 days of hire. The team works alternating weekends and some holidays with on-call shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Education: HS Diploma/GED (Required).
• Work experience: 6 months phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture, finger and heel sticks, and blood cultures.
• Verify patient identification and accurate specimen labeling to ensure quality.
• Maintain appropriate response times to stat and timed orders.
• Participate in trauma and code response teams.
