Job summary

PharmD on Demand in Toccoa, GA is seeking a hospital pharmacy technician to support Stephens County Hospital on an as-needed (PRN) basis. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy in dosage calculations, and timely medication delivery within a hospital setting.

Candidates must hold a current pharmacy technician license for the applicable state, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior hospital or retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state.
• Prefers previous hospital or retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in providing medication, drug information, and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital personnel.
• Receives and stores incoming deliveries of medication and supplies.
• Demonstrates ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filling prescriptions.
• Maintains inventory of supplies in pharmacy and other departments and reorders them accordingly.
• Answers the phone and communicates effectively with hospital staff as directed by the pharmacist.
• Performs tasks related to sterile compounding and compounding chemotherapy, including clean room training and maintenance.
• Prepares and delivers medications to designated locations based on end-user need.
• Maintains stock in the automated dispensing cabinet.
