Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state(s).
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in providing medication, drug information, and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital personnel.
• Receives and stores incoming deliveries of medication and supplies.
• Demonstrates an ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions ranging from the newborn to the elderly populations.
• Maintains inventory of supplies in pharmacy and other departments and reorders them accordingly.
• Answers the phone and communicates effectively with hospital staff as directed by the pharmacist.
• Performs tasks related to sterile compounding, including but not limited to clean room training, cleaning, and maintaining the space.
• Prepares and delivers medications to designated locations based on end-user need.
• Maintains stock in the automated dispensing cabinet.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state(s)
