Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital in Humble, TX is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy Department with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and patient safety under the Pharmacist’s supervision.

The role includes managing hospital inventory, Pyxis operations, ordering, restocking, documenting, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
• Currently registered as a pharmacy technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy; registration must remain active.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained or to be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
• Manage hospital medication inventory and prevent mispacks or errors.
• Handle PYXIS inventory selection and loading with ISMP safety in mind.
• Maintain inventory records including invoices and logs.
• Process employee purchase functions and charging.
• Handle department medication requests and communicate stock status.
• Maintain monthly checks of emergency supply carts/kits and restock as needed.
• Accurately prepare medications and kits with proper labeling.
