Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current national certification through PTCB/NHA required.
• New York State Education Department (NYSED) license required.
• Minimum of two years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Ability to learn computerized hospital pharmacy system.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with non-professional aspects of preparing and dispensing medication.
• Fill, label, and stock unit-dose carts; deliver to nursing units as scheduled.
• Prepare and label IV additives and injectable prescriptions where required.
• Enter and maintain medication orders and records in the hospital system.
• Maintain inventory and handle stock at pharmacy workstations.
• Perform related duties as required; physical exertion may be required.
