Job summary

2810 Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Inc. in Boston, MA, seeks a Pharmacy Technician for an evening shift (3:00PM - 11:30PM, Mon–Fri) to assist the Pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications to patient care areas.

The role requires MA registration (CPhT) and national certification, with attention to aseptic technique, IV preparation, and accurate use of Omnicell and Epic systems. Onsite work location: 1153 Centre Street.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current MA Pharmacy Technician registration with no disciplinary actions.
• National certification (CPhT).
• Staff adheres to CARE standards.
• Must understand Omnicell, Epic, repackaging machine and related tech.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily workload to coincide with the needs of the department.
• Prepacks non-unit-dose oral medications as needed for dispensing to patient care areas.
• Aseptically prepares intravenous medications within the allotted time period.
• Uses aseptic technique and chemotherapy precautions in the IV Room.
• Medication orders are filled accurately and efficiently.
• Dispensing to Omnicell cabinets is performed accurately.
• Stock medications are ordered and dispensed accurately.
• Inspects assigned areas for outdated drugs.
• Answers the phone in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Accepts extra duties and completes them by deadline.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas timely and accurately.
