Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX, is a 495-bed facility within Universal Health Services. We seek a Pharmacy Technician to assist the licensed pharmacist, prepare and distribute medications, and support inventory control in the hospital pharmacy.

Under supervision, technicians perform tasks per written procedures, adhere to state and federal regulations, and ensure accurate medication administration in collaboration with pharmacists, nurses, and physicians.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment.
• 0–2 years experience in pharmacy services; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Demonstrates high level of organizational skills.
• Demonstrates independent functioning.
• High school graduate or equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Participates with pharmacists, nursing, and medical staff to provide safe, accurate and timely medication administration.
