Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in an institutional or retail pharmacy environment.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Nebraska is required.
• Certification as a Nebraska-accepted Pharmacy Technician is required (PTCB/ExCPT/NE-CPhT).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with unit dose dispensing, automated packaging, and medication deliveries.
• Operate automated packaging device for unit dose medications and troubleshoot packaging issues.
• Troubleshoot automated dispensing devices on nursing units and ancillary areas as needed.
• Generate labels with software to ensure correct barcodes for administration by nursing staff.
• Fill medication replacement orders and credit patient medications in the pharmacy system.
• Adhere to safety procedures and state restrictions governing Pharmacy Technician functions.
• Train new staff in department processes in coordination with management.
• Participate in education, meetings, and department projects as assigned.
