Job summary

Emerson Hospital is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join a collaborative hospital team. You will support medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management across the hospital system.

Under the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and Clinical Pharmacist on duty, you will ensure accurate medication handling in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on patient safety and teamwork with pharmacists, nurses, and physicians.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
• Advanced certifications or completion of an advanced competency program preferred.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver medications across the hospital per policies.
• Manage and refill Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) across the facility.
• Handle Schedule II–VI medicines with strict regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and repack unit-dose meds for inpatient care.
• Assist with sterile and non-sterile compounding per USP guidelines.
• Provide responsive service to nurses, physicians, inpatients, and outpatients.
• Escalate medication questions to the Clinical Pharmacist on duty.
• Oversee inventory transfers between pharmacy and designated locations.
