Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Texas pharmacy technician registration.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• I.V. Certification or willingness to obtain within six months of hire.
• Formal Pharmacy Technician training course preferred.
• Six months of pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures procurement and distribution of drug orders.
• Identifies and fills replacement medications on crash carts, OR carts, and floor stock.
• Prepares sterile products, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas.
• Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date.
• Picks up orders and medications for return from patient care areas on rounds.
• Enters charges and credits for patient medications.
• Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.
