Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED equivalency required
• Licensure, Certification, Registration: MA Registered Pharmacy Technician with National Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) or a MA Registered Pharmacy Intern
• Experience: Previous hospital pharmacy experience and sterile compounding experience is preferred
• Accurate math skills required
• Communicates clearly in written English with internal and external customers

Responsibilities

• Delivers medication to patient care units following policies and regulations
• Accurately fills medications
• Delivers medications to automated dispensing machines
• Maintains safe and timely drug distribution
• Interview patients to obtain medication histories when trained
• Assists in inventory management and ordering when trained
• Handles Prior Authorization requests and patient assistance foundation documentation when trained
• Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding per procedures
• Responds to pharmacy telephone inquiries and triages requests
• Participates in performance improvement activities
