Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• California pharmacy technician license in good standing required.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medications under supervision of pharmacist.
• Assists pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency.
• Prepares and compounds medications following hospital protocols and USP standards.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
• Maintains medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Supports medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation.
• Collaborates with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery.
• Complies with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations.
