Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, an active NM Pharmacy Technician license, and relevant certification.

High school diploma or GED required.
Active NM Board of Pharmacy license required for Pharmacy Tech I/II.
Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam required (Tech II).
IV admixture training within 3 months (Tech II) and IV chemotherapy training within 3 months.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
Hospital or retail pharmacy experience desirable.

Responsibilities

Fills unit dose cassettes and ADMs; delivers medications to nursing units.
Keeps accurate Pyxis records and logs; checks meds with a pharmacist.
Inspects areas for expired meds; rotates stock and replenishes floors stock.
Disposes of hazardous waste and chemotherapy appropriately.
Triages phone calls within technician scope and refers complex questions to pharmacists.
Completes monthly audits and documents activity; ensures timely stock replenishment.
