Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Pharmacy Technician certification course; 6 months experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews prescriptions; verifies accuracy and routes discrepancies to Pharmacist.
• Enters new/refill prescription information into the computer.
• Calculates and converts weights and measures; visually checks accuracy.
• Prepares unit dose medication carts per patient profiles.
• Prepares, compounds, packages and labels pharmaceuticals.
• Fills ward and clinic drug supply orders and computes quantities.
• Performs physical inventory to maintain stock levels per policies.
• Maintains department logs and stocks Pyxis with non-controlled meds.
