Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Transitions of Care Services team. This full-time role involves obtaining medication histories and supporting the care team across AM and PM shifts, with every third weekend required.

Minimum 1–3 years in healthcare or related fields, state licensure, and CPhT/ExCPT certification are required. Strong communication, accuracy, and confidentiality are essential, with proficiency in MS Office and EHR

Qualifications

• Registration/Licensure with state board of pharmacy.
• Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Health Career Association (ExCPT).
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Typically requires 1-3 years of experience in health care, insurance industry, pharmacy, or medical background.

Responsibilities

• Completes area-specific work as outlined by standard processes and policies.
• Serves as an expert with equipment and technology in the specialized area.
• Solves technical issues in the specialized area as they arise.
• Ensures documents and records are accurate and completed in a timely fashion.
• Supports methods of communication and coordination with patients and care team.
• Identifies quality improvement opportunities to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Assists with operational changes and site/system standardization.
• Participates in site or system specialized work teams, committees, and councils.
• Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Keeps current with changes in the field and collaborates with leadership to adopt best practices.
• Maintains knowledge and contributes to education of others.
• Contributes to execution of pharmacy department initiatives.
• Accepts assignments from other pharmacy teammate roles when workload dictates.
