Job summary

UPMC Memorial Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role includes rotating daylight and evening shifts, assisting with preparation and delivery of medications in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required and one of the following: accredited pharmacy technician program; six months of pharmacy technician experience; six months experience as a Pharmacy Assistant within the UPMC Health System.
• Pharmacy technician certification or registration as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders with correct labeling, counting and stocking; initial and date products as required.
• Prepare oral and injectable medications, including IV admixtures and TPN for the correct patient.
• Use proper technique in medication preparation and maintain sterile environment.
• Distribute medications, manage controlled substances per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate patient information and records in the pharmacy computer system.
