Job summary

Corewell Health Taylor Hospital in Taylor, MI, seeks a hospital pharmacy technician for a full-time rotating shift. Under pharmacist supervision, you will help prepare, store, distribute, and dispense prescriptions, including IV admixtures and unit-dose services, with potential rotations to OR and Outpatient Pharmacy.

Responsibilities include data entry, bulk product preparation, inventory, charging/crediting in the system, and distributing medications to care areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with sterile compounding or 6 months technician experience preferred.
• State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license upon hire or Pharmacist Intern license upon hire required.
• ASHP-accredited technician training program graduates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, storage, distribution, and dispensing of prescriptions.
• Rotate through IV admixture and unit dose service.
• Possible rotation to OR Pharmacy and Outpatient Pharmacy services.
• Data entry and related record-keeping tasks.
• Fill medication orders including oral, injectable, topical, and IV admixtures.
• Assist in bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products.
• Prepare and distribute floor stock per requisitions.
• Inventory and restock shelves; check for outdated drugs.
• Enter charges/credits for medications and IV admixtures.
• Distribute prepared medications to patient care areas and other departments.
• Answer phones and assist at Pharmacy window.
