Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s Northridge Hospital Medical Center in California is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist in preparing sterile parenteral and unit-dose medications, ensuring accuracy and timely dispensing under supervision.

You will label containers, maintain logs for extemporaneous pre-pack and manufacturing, and uphold infection control and safety protocols in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of hospital pharmacy experience with unit-dose IV additive experience or one year general pharmacy experience.
• Ability to type at least 15 words per minute.
• California Board of Pharmacy Technician Licensure required.
• Fire Safety card required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of sterile parenteral and irrigation products.
• Exchange all unit-dose cassettes.
• Utilize a computerized fill list to provide 24-hour unit-dose medication in an individual cassette.
• Complete the accurate charge/credit notation for use by the data entry clerk.
• Label all medication containers accurately per established label format.
• Complete all extemporaneous pre-pack and manufacturing logs.
