Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy certification is required.
• ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician training preferred.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
• Experience in an acute care hospital pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill physician orders, prescriptions, medication carts, or stock requisitions.
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas.
• Enter medication orders/prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system.
• Provide technical support for automated dispensing equipment (ADUs).
• Maintain logs, records and other required documentation.
• Complete and document medication storage area inspections monthly and replace outdated drugs.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures or sterile products including chemotherapy.
• Keep pharmacy equipment and areas clean and organized.
• Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers.
