Job summary

Emanate Health in Covina, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare, store and distribute medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities include inventory control when the buyer is not present, and training of technician staff, PI/QA data collection and reporting.

This role requires Pharmacy Technician license, hospital experience, knowledge of trade and generic drug names, aseptic technique for IVs, math and computer entry skills.

Qualifications

• Training as per State Board of Pharmacy requirements for Pharmacy Technician.
• Two years as a pharmacy technician in a hospital environment.
• Knowledge of trade/generic drug names and aseptic technique for the preparation of all types of IVs.
• Must be able to perform mathematical calculations and have sufficient typing skills for computer order entry.
• Must have good understanding of pharmacy systems and the interface between pharmacy and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, store and distribute medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist with inventory control in the absence of the buyer and train technician staff.
• Collect PI and QA data and compile reports and other projects as assigned.
