Job summary

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, part of Tenet Healthcare, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the licensed pharmacist in preparing IV and unit-dose meds, delivering medications, and ensuring accuracy in a busy hospital setting.

You will handle medication orders, assist with charge functions, process returns, and maintain controlled substance inventory with proper documentation, collaborating with care teams across units.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan by 10/1/15.
• Prior pharmacy experience and/or completion of formal pharmacy technician training including knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminologies is preferred.
• Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package and label IV and unit-dose medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Deliver floor stock medications and patient-specific medications to care areas.
• Process and deliver controlled substances with proper documentation.
• Collect and return medication orders and unused/expired meds to the pharmacy for processing.
• Respond to inquiries from hospital staff and provide information regarding medication orders.
