Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System in Albany, GA seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the hospital pharmacy team. You will assist pharmacists with receiving, processing, and dispensing orders for medications, IV solutions, and outpatient prescriptions, and help transport drugs and supplies to ensure timely, high-quality patient care.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED; a pharmacy technician degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy tech degree preferred.
• 1+ years retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in receiving, processing, and dispensing orders for medications, IV solutions and outpatient prescriptions.
• Transport drugs and supplies to and from the pharmacy to ensure timely delivery of quality care.
• Training in aseptic technique and duties of IV technician preferred.
• Answer phones, manage window/door operations, and operate the pneumatic tube system.
• Assist in pulling expirations from main pharmacy and automated dispensing cabinets.
• Assist in stock replenishment and maintaining inventory.
• Support pharmacists in monthly nursing stat activities.
