Job summary
La Paz Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will assist with dispensing, IV compounding, inventory control, and documentation to ensure safe, timely medication delivery.
Ideal candidates hold a CPhT in Arizona, have strong pharma terminology knowledge, and excel in communication and teamwork. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required to support patient care needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) in the state of Arizona.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medications, and dosage calculations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing: prepare and dispense medications accurately per protocols.
- Inventory Management: assist in ordering, receiving, and restocking medications.
- Patient Care: collaborate with healthcare professionals and address patient inquiries.
- IV Compounding: prepare IV meds using aseptic technique per USP 797/800.
- Emergency Response: assist during emergencies with critical meds.
- Documentation: maintain accurate medication transaction records.
- Regulatory Compliance: adhere to HIPAA, USP, DEA, and Arizona Board of Pharmacy.
- Quality Assurance: perform equipment checks and quality improvements.
