Job summary

Avera Health's Pharmacy Department is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician-in-Training at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. Under supervision, you will assist in inputting orders, labeling, packaging, and inventory to support safe, accurate medication delivery.

The Pharmacy Technician Education Program blends didactic, simulation, and experiential learning to prepare for PTCB certification. A two-year commitment applies after program completion.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician in Training registration required within 30 days.
• PTCB certification or approved alternative training/certification.

Responsibilities

• Under Pharmacist supervision, input and prepare labels and packages for inpatient or outpatient orders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications, calculations, regulations and patient safety.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, customers and teams to promote safe care.
• Perform clerical duties including billing and inventory procedures.

Education

Pharmacy Technician in Training - SD Board of Pharmacy Registered with respective state's Board of Pharmacy within State requirements within 30 Days

Certified Pharmacy Technician - Board of Pharmacy Pharmacy Technician Board Certification or alternative approved training/certification program
