Job summary

Insight Global seeks an experienced Pharmacy Operations Manager to oversee hospital pharmacy daily operations and ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care. You will mentor clinical pharmacists, supervise staff, manage inventory, and support the Pharmacy Director in policy development and budget management.

Responsibilities include coordinating workflow, ensuring USP standards, driving efficiency, and participating in quality initiatives and disaster response planning.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • 5+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience (leadership included).
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Other applicable state requirements – e.g. sterile compounding.
  • BLS certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records systems.
  • 1 year as a pharmacy operations specialist.
  • Hospital Pharmacy Management experience.
  • ALS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Function in accordance with policy & procedures and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacy team, caregivers, providers, and departments; participate in team huddles.
  • Assist Director of Pharmacy to meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Oversee orientation and training, and maintain competency records.
  • Supervise pharmacists and staff shifts; manage staffing and overtime.
  • Coordinate daily workflow of pharmacy staff.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of medications.
  • Assist in staff performance evaluations and policy development.
  • Oversee inventory, budget, and cost-savings initiatives.
  • Mentor staff in adverse drug reaction reporting and quality programs.
  • Participate in hospital committees to improve practice and patient care.
  • Train and participate in Disaster Team drills and events.
  • Ensure compounding standards per USP 795/797/800, including records review.
  • Develop processes to meet controlled substances standards; maintain documentation.
  • Maintain Drug Control and Power of Attorney for Schedule II orders.
  • Preceptor for students and residents; maintain professional competency.
  • Interpret, transcribe, and verify orders; ensure accurate dispensing.
  • Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor therapy regimens for interactions and dosing adequacy.
  • Provide medication information to staff and patients.
  • Document clinical activities and interventions thoroughly.
  • Sustain formulary and promote rational drug therapy.
