Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist in the hospital's pharmacy department. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will triage medication requests, assist in aseptic compounding of parenteral admixtures, and help prepare, label and document drug products.

You will participate in the institutional drug distribution process, operate Omnicell and other equipment, and support training of new staff while respecting patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with Nebraska intern registration.
• Admitted to a recognized School of Pharmacy program; internship registration required.
• Basic chemistry, arithmetic, and record-keeping abilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with non-judgmental tasks.
• Triaged medication requests and assisted with orders.
• Manufactures, packages and labels drug products as needed.
• Aseptic compounding of parenteral admixtures and sterile dosage forms.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment and systems.
• Support training of new pharmacy staff and ensure patient rights and confidentiality.
