Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist the pharmacy team at Nebraska Methodist Hospital. You will shadow pharmacists, perform aseptic compounding, and help operate pharmacy technology to support safe, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include triaging medication requests, maintaining sterile admixtures, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the unit dose and IV room processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and Nebraska intern registration required.
• Registration with Nebraska DHHS as Pharmacy Intern prior to start date.
• Admitted to a nationally recognized School of Pharmacy Program required.

Responsibilities

• Triage medication requests and notify pharmacist. Ensure follow-up on issues.
• Perform aseptic compounding of parenteral admixtures and sterile dosage forms.
• Operate and manage pharmacy equipment (Omnicell, carousel, UD packager).
• Handle hazardous drugs safely and in compliance with procedures.
• Assist in training and orientation of new staff; interact with healthcare team.
• Shadow pharmacists to gain knowledge of pharmacy operations.
