Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a hospital Pharmacist to interpret physician orders, monitor interactions and allergies, prepare medications and parenteral solutions, and dispense them in a compliant, professional manner.

The role includes supervising technicians, coordinating with physicians, and supporting medication therapy across departments. Weekend and holiday rotations are required.

Qualifications

• PA candidates: B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D. (5 or 6 years depending on state)
• Registered in Pennsylvania or completion of Boards with pending licensure may be accepted
• Active NJ Pharmacist license required

Responsibilities

• Dispenses and supervises the filling of prescriptions.
• Assures the accurate profiling, preparation and dispensing of new medication orders for inpatients according to procedure.
• Exercises practical judgment in decision making and seeks assistance as needed.
• Prepares and supervises the preparation of parenteral admixtures, parenteral nutrition solutions, anti-neoplastic medication, and other sterile products.
• Directs pharmacy technicians, interns and volunteers who assist with medications and ensures their accuracy.
• Confers with individuals concerning questions or problems.
• Establishes and maintains good rapport with co-workers.
• Serves as a resource for drug information and gives in-service programs.
• Performs appropriate clinical activities as established by the department.
• Participates in departmental meetings and on committees.
• Completes IV/Admixtures Lab and departmental competencies.

Education

B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D.

Registered in Pennsylvania or completion of Boards with pending licensure

Active NJ Pharmacist license required
