Job Overview - Hospital Pharmacist

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Hospital Pharmacist in Westchester County, NY for our client, supporting inpatient medication management, pharmacy operations, medication safety, and interdisciplinary patient care within a hospital environment. This per diem role will review medication orders, ensure safe and accurate pharmaceutical services, collaborate with clinical teams, and support pharmacy quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is a New York-licensed Pharmacist with required hospital pharmacy experience and the flexibility to work varied overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Compensation: $110,000-$165,000/year
Location: Westchester County, NY
Schedule: Per Diem, Varied Overnight Shifts Including Weekends and Holidays (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Hospital Pharmacist:
  • Medication Management: Review medication orders against patient profiles to ensure appropriate, accurate, and safe medication therapy.
  • Clinical Pharmacy Support: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to support pharmaceutical services and patient care.
  • Medication Safety: Follow established medication safety, infection control, quality improvement, and risk management standards within the hospital environment.
  • Pharmacy Operations: Support efficient pharmacy workflows, medication distribution, documentation, and day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Quality & Compliance: Maintain adherence to hospital, pharmacy, regulatory, and professional standards while completing required competencies and continuing education.
  • Team Oversight: Provide guidance and direction to pharmacy support personnel while contributing to effective communication and collaboration across the department.
Qualifications for the Hospital Pharmacist:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited pharmacy program is required.
  • Licensure: Active New York State Pharmacist license and registration are required.
  • Experience: 1+ years of pharmacist experience within a hospital setting is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations, medication management, medication safety, infection control, and hospital pharmacy standards is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with medication order review, patient medication profiles, pharmacy documentation, and hospital pharmacy systems is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, communication, teamwork, accountability, time management, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment are required.
