Job description

Responsibilities

• Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies for both inpatients and outpatients.
• Order Verification: Review and verify medication orders, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with established protocols.
• Patient Counseling: Provide medication counseling to patients, explaining dosage, side effects, and potential interactions.
• Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy).
• Licensure: Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in New York State.
• Experience: Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Schedule

• Full-time: 40 hours per week.

• Secondary Shifts: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM and 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (as needed).
• Weekend Needs: Every other weekend.
