Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Inpatient Pharmacy team at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Hospital Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective medication therapy in a fast-paced acute care setting.

You will partner with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and lead medication safety initiatives while advancing your hospital pharmacy career.

Qualifications

• Current state Registered Pharmacist License.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy operations preferred.
• B.S. degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and accurately dispense medications for hospitalized patients.
• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, safety, interactions, dosing, and therapeutic outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams regarding medication therapy management.
• Monitor patient medication regimens and recommend clinical interventions when appropriate.
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship, medication reconciliation, and patient safety initiatives.
• Provide drug information and clinical consultation to healthcare team members.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, Joint Commission, and hospital regulations.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).

Shifts Available: Variable

Employment Type: Full-Time

Hours: 8-hour Shift

(rotating schedule 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM)

Weekend Coverage:Every 4th Weekend.

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO

As an Inpatient Pharmacist, you will partner with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective medication therapy, optimize patient outcomes, and support medication safety initiatives through expert clinical pharmacy practice.
