Job summary

GHR Travel Nursing is seeking a Hospital Pharmacist for a travel contract in Broken Arrow, OK. The role supports adult and geriatric patients in an on-site hospital setting with 8-hour day shifts and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Current Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy license.
• Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• At least 1 year of recent Pharmacist experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication therapy, pharmacokinetics, aseptic preparation, and pharmacy safety standards.
• Ability to evaluate medication orders for appropriate dosing, allergies, interactions, duplication, renal function, age, weight, and disease state.

Responsibilities

• Interpret medication orders and compound, prepare, verify, and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Review patient profiles to promote safe and appropriate drug therapy, including screening for allergies, significant interactions, therapeutic duplication, and avoidable adverse drug reactions.
• Prepare sterile products while maintaining aseptic technique and completing accurate labeling, packaging, documentation, and expiration requirements.
• Prioritize STAT, immediate, waiting, and fill-on-arrival orders according to clinical urgency.
• Provide pharmacokinetic dosing support, interpret drug levels, modify doses appropriately, and document progress notes according to protocol.
• Clarify medication orders with physicians when needed and provide therapeutic and drug information to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Supervise, assist, and provide professional guidance to pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Verify technician-prepared products before release and support accurate medication distribution throughout the hospital.
• Maintain pharmacy security, including controlled-substance security, and ensure required refrigerator and hood-cleaning logs are completed.
• Participate in quality improvement, education, drug information, and hospital performance initiatives.
• Generate required pharmacy and production reports and communicate workload or operational concerns to pharmacy leadership.
