Job summary

Morrison Healthcare at Memorial Hermann Pearland is hiring a part-time Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) to help patients with menu selections and to assemble, deliver and retrieve meal trays.

The role requires teamwork with nursing and culinary staff to accommodate dietary needs and preferences, while adhering to safety, HIPAA, HACCP, and sanitation standards. The schedule varies, with weekends included, and prior customer service experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure dietary requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies and cultural/religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selections.
• Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO standards; adhere to HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Assist dietitians with patients on liquid diets or specific calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel.
• Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
