Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect care under RN supervision in a hospital setting. The role focuses on patient safety, comfort and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to support complex patients.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, performing basic assessments, phlebotomy, EKG, vitals, specimen handling, and assisting with transports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship or equivalent medical background.
• AHA BLS certification within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with admissions, examinations and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
• Take and document vitals (BP, pulse, temp, O2 sat).
• Assist with patient transport and daily activities.
• Maintain equipment and ensure patient safety and comfort.
