Job summary

A leading academic healthcare organization in Chicago is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to manage and maintain utility systems within its facilities. This position requires a high school diploma, relevant licenses, and at least five years of experience in operations and maintenance. Successful candidates will ensure safe and efficient system performance in a full-time onsite role in Hyde Park.

Qualifications

• 5 years minimum experience in facility operations or building maintenance.
• Successful completion of recognized trade union apprentice program.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair machinery and equipment.
• Adjust controls for safe and efficient operation.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Participate in capital projects and system start-up.
