Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Nutrition Services Director in Houston, TX to lead and coordinate the Nutrition Services Department in a hospital setting. You will oversee patient meals and cafeteria service, implement policies, manage budgets, and ensure safety and quality in food handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination, direction, and day-to-day management of the Nutrition Services Department.
• Establish and implement policies and procedures covering cafeteria management, food preparation, budgeting, purchasing, staff development, and safety practices.
• Manage the departmental budget related to Nutrition Services.
• Perform and document purchasing, receiving, and inventory control for food and supplies.
• Maintain sanitation, temperature control, and appropriate food-handling practices in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Determine appropriate food quality, quantity, and portion sizes while ensuring proper handling.
• Maintain adequate departmental staffing and oversee employees.
• Coordinate production of patient meals and cafeteria service.
• Develop cafeteria menus as needed.
• Purchase food and coordinate or assign responsibilities for special needs and special occasions.
