Job summary

The Nutrition Services team at Corewell Health is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. You will prepare and serve meals, handle cash for patient and guest trays, and maintain clean, safe kitchen and dining areas.

This role requires reliability and a willingness to follow safety and quality procedures. The schedule is 20 hours per week, with shifts around early mornings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• No Experience Food Service preferably in health care or related field
• Must be 21 years of age
• Must have excellent driving record
• CRT-Accredited Food Handler - ANSI National Accreditation Board 90 Days
• CRT-Accredited Food Allergy Certificate - ANSI National Accreditation Board 90 Days
• CRT-Accredited Food Protection Manager, CFP - ANSI National Accreditation Board 90 Days
• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains serving lines including dishes, silverware, hot and cold food items, condiments, etc.
• Serves food as directed, replenishing items as needed.
• Sets up and operates the cash register station and cash handling equipment to ensure the accurate collection of payments.
• Performs routine and heavy-duty cleaning such as washing, scraping, scouring, and rinsing pots, pans, utensils and other equipment.
• Sets up and delivers food carts to patient and other food delivery areas.
• Retrieves carts and returns them to the dish room for cleaning.
• May be required to perform quality and compliance audits and implement or recommend solutions where audits indicate insufficiencies.
