Job summary

Essentia Health in Fargo, ND seeks a part-time Nutrition Services Assistant to assist with hospital meal orders and dietary records. You will take patient and family meal orders by telephone, enter requests into the diet office system, and help ensure patients receive correct menus.

You will visit patients at the bedside to clarify preferences and allergies, maintain accurate diet records, and coordinate with Nutrition Services staff to relay dietary changes.

Responsibilities

• Takes meal orders from patients and family by telephone and enters meal requests into the computerized diet office system.
• Sees patients at bedside to assist with menu selections, obtain dietary preferences, and clarify allergies.
• Enters patient information into the diet office system, and maintains highly accurate computerized diet records.
• Communicates with Nutrition Services staff to assure patients are receiving the correct diet.
• Relays messages to supervisors and clinical nutrition staff.
